What an unforgettable night at Tenino High School! As Principal, I couldn’t be prouder to share this incredible Homecoming Dance moment with you all. 🎉

This past Saturday, 224 amazing THS students lit up the dance floor, joined by 33 guests from other schools and supported by 10 dedicated staff chaperones. The energy was electric — most students stayed until the very end, and the dance floor was packed all night long! 💃🕺

Moments like these remind us why THS is such a special place to be. Go Beavers! ❤️🖤 Check out this video:

I’m proud to serve as the Principal of Tenino High School. Over the past four years, our students and staff have shown remarkable growth. A perfect example of this progress was the first pep assembly of the year. The energy was electric—each grade brought their enthusiasm and competed passionately for the spirit stick by singing the fight song. Four years ago, we didn’t see this level of spirit and engagement.
Tenino High School is truly a special place, made exceptional by the students and staff who bring it to life every day.

Two Tenino High School athletes were finalists for The Chronicle's 2024-2025 Athletes of the Year and were honored at a banquet on Tuesday, June 3rd at the Jester Auto Museum and Event Center in Chehalis. Austin Gonia was a finalist for Boys Basketball Player of the Year. The Chronicle stated, "Gonia was a vital part of Tenino's turnaround as he scored 19.1 points and added 8.6 rebounds per game while also averaging 7.4 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 1.5 steals per game." Carson Schall was a finalist for Boys Track & Field Athlete of the Year. The Chronicle stated, "Schall won both hurdles races at Districts before placing third in both events at the State meet in Yakima a week later." Congratulations to Austin and Carson.

Congratulations to Tenino Track & Field Athlete Carson Schall who last Friday won first place in the 110m Hurdles at the 59th Shaner Invitational at Tumwater High School. This moment was extra special to Carson because his father won the same event at the Shaner Invitational 30 years prior while running for Yelm High School. While Carson was the only Tenino track athlete at the Shaner Invite, Tenino track athletes competed at other meets on May 9th at the Spudder Track & Field Classic, the Freshman Invitational on May 10th and at the 1A Evergreen Non-Qualifier in Rochester on May 14th. Track & Field isn't just about winning - it's about growth. Every race, every jump, every throw is a chance to beat your own best, to push past limits and set personal or season records. A PR or SR is proof of dedication, hard work and resilience. Victory isn't always about crossing the line first or standing on the podium - sometimes, it's knowing you improved. That feeling of surpassing your previous best? It's unmatched. The following Tenino Track & Field athletes hit a PR or SR this past week: Samantha Smith, Brynn Williams, Ashton Moore, Weston Wachter-Parent, Hudson Thoren, Molly Nicholson, Darien Nelson, Cody Smith, Dawson Williams, Felix Fairbanks, Wyatt Sweet, Athena Causland and Carson Schall. Congratulations!! The thrill of improvement, the satisfaction of knowing you left everything on the track and field, is something no one can take away from you. Keep chasing those PRs!

Gesa Credit Union and the Dairy Farmers of Washington teamed up to provide eight $1,000 scholarships: one of them went to THS's very own Brynn Williams! Congrats! “Each year, we continue to be inspired by the remarkable students who are recognized through the Smart Choices Scholarship,” said WIAA Executive Director Mick Hoffman. “This year’s recipients exemplify what it means to lead with integrity, resilience, and a heart for service—both in competition and in their communities. We are proud to support their continued success as they take the next step in their academic and personal journeys.
