Our April School Board meeting was hosted by Tenino Middle School! Mr. H chose to recognize two volunteers that spend countless hours volunteering at TMS, whether it's running copies or prepping for a science lab, they always show up. A big thank you to Tiffany Dickman and Michele Humble! You both are appreciated more than you know!
We had the pleasure of hearing from Mr. Harrington about the Digi-skills and Multimedia classes in addition to the amazing success of the Esports program! We also got to hear from Mrs. Rankel and a few of her students about their experience in the Student Green Congress last month, held at Evergreen State College.
Thank you for hosting Mr. H and team!

PARKING LOT SAFETY
Our maintenance team was hard at work this morning installing a speed bump in the Tenino Elementary School parking lot. The safety of our students, staff, and community is of utmost importance to us and we appreciate your cooperation in keeping arrival and pick up procedures safe for everyone!

Last week, fifteen of Mrs. Rankel’s 7th Grade Science Students showcased their insights on the Scatter Creek Watershed and the headwaters of the Chehalis River Basin, during the 32nd Annual Student GREEN Congress at Evergreen State College. Students monitored the water quality of Scatter Creek and the Mill Pond in both October and February. They presented their findings to experts in water quality and students from grades 3 to 8 across Western Washington. Additionally, they participated in workshops learning a variety of ways to be good stewards of nature and our environment.

Every year for the months of February, March, April, and May, each school hosts a school board meeting! Parkside kicked us off this year at our February meeting last week and we had the cutest group of Transition to Kindergarten (TTK) students that led us in the flag salute with their teacher, Mrs. Holly Johnson!
Similar to our regular board meetings, each Principal chooses a community partner to honor at the meeting. Parkside chose to recognize Gaylen and Carol Wood of South Sound Reading Foundation. The Wood's and SSRF have been supporting Tenino students for nearly 20 years and have put thousands of books into our students hands. Thank you Gaylen, Carol, and South Sound Reading Foundation for your unwavering support of Tenino students!
Next month, our meeting will be hosted by Mrs. Van De Wege and crew at Tenino Elementary!

Congratulations to the Tenino Varsity Boys Basketball team for making it to the State Tournament for the second year in row!! They will be headed up north to Wenatchee High School to face the Chelan Mountain Goats tomorrow, March 1 at 10:00am. Good Luck, Beavers!

February 15th was National School Resource Officer Appreciation Day!! Thanks for all you do to support TSD and our students! We appreciate you!

Good Afternoon Tenino Families,
Just a friendly reminder that there is no school tomorrow, 2/14 or Monday, 2/17. February 14th is a scheduled Weather Make-Up Day that is built into our calendar and Monday in observance of Presidents Day.
Have a nice long weekend and stay warm!

Tenino Families,
We are aware of a fender bender that happened in the parking lot of Tenino High School this afternoon, involving one of our buses. There were no injuries and students are loaded on another bus for transport home.

**ALL TENINO SCHOOLS WILL RELEASE ONE HOUR EARLY TODAY, FEB 13TH DUE TO WORSENING ROAD CONDITIONS**
Dismissal times are as follows:
Parkside will dismiss at 1:35pm
Tenino Elementary will dismiss at 1:50pm
Tenino Middle School will dismiss at 1:55pm
Tenino High School will dismiss at 2pm
ALL AFTER SCHOOL ACTIVITIES ARE CANCELLED! BE SAFE!

Good Evening Tenino Families,
As you may be aware, there is a Winter Weather Advisory expected to begin tomorrow morning, with a forecast of heavy snow in the afternoon. We would like our families to be prepared for the possibility of students being released from school early should the weather worsen.
Again, we are not calling for an early release at this time, but want families to have the opportunity to be prepared in the event we need to send students home early.
