PEBT Letter to Families
Dear Tenino Families, In collaboration with our employee groups the District now has a solid date to reopen in-person learning at THS. As in the previous plan we will be using a hybrid A/B model with students in group ‘A’ attending all day on Mondays and Thursdays, group ‘B’ students attending all day on Tuesdays and Fridays, with Wednesday being a remote day for all students. The start date for THS is: March 8, 2021 group A March 9, 2021 group B The Thurston County transmission rate has fallen below 200 cases per 100,000. As of this writing there are 137.9 cases per 100,000 residents over a 14-day running average. Important Notes: Previously we asked you to select either the in-person or remote learning option for your child(ren). In addition, we asked if you planned on having your child(ren) ride the bus to and/or from school. IF you have changed your preference, contact your child’s school ASAP. Otherwise, we will plan for your child(ren) to receive the program you have originally chosen. You will be contacted by First Student if you chose to access bus transportation. Please contact your child(ren)'s school if you have changed your preference regarding transportation. For families choosing in-person learning, we will be requiring families to complete a quarterly attestation. If you have not done so you can access the attestation form here. We will continue to do daily screening and temperature checks for all in-person students. For children currently receiving special education services at THS your child’s teacher will be reaching out to you if there is any change to your child’s program or schedule. We have been asked, what gives you confidence we can operate schools safely in a hybrid model? Essentially, the State and County departments of health are clear that the modeling data and school experiences across Washington State have shown mitigation measures, including symptom screening, robust contact tracing, mask wearing, physical distancing, facility cleaning, and hygiene mitigate the risks and are highly effective in reducing school transmission. Click here to read our County health officers letter to schools. We look forward to reopening and are anxious to see students back on campus. Regards, Joe Belmonte

Snow in the Forecast Tenino Families, Snow is in the forecast for later this week. This will not impact any student who is currently receiving remote learning. However, inclement weather would impact students who receive in-person learning. If in-person learning is cancelled students will then be shifted to remote learning on any cancelled in-person days. There will be no food service when in-person learning is cancelled. So, how will you know if your child’s in-person has been cancelled? The District will communicate in the following ways: --Posting any changes on Facebook and the District website --Email families via Skyward email (please ensure your information is current in Skyward) --Text notification if your mobile device is the primary number listed in the Skyward system --Robo calls --Because of how our notification systems work, you may receive emails, texts and/or robocalls even if your child is in remote learning or not scheduled for that particular day. --Media outlets
